Cash for
Cancer Research UK

The Amber Sound Roadshow as part of Amber Sound’s promotion for their
upcoming broadcast, joined forces with Becky Day, Elaine Ford and their
group of helpers to help them raise £1098.00 for Cancer Research UK in
Severn Square in Alfreton on Saturday 1st September.
“£ 510.63 is the best ever total we have raised with our stalls in Seven
Square” said Becky Day “ We must thank Chris Knight and all the Amber
Sound team who came along on the day for encouraging people to dig deep
and give to Cancer Research UK, it made all the difference their music
bringing more people into the square than normal”
“We were delighted to come along and support Becky and Elaine in there
efforts for Cancer Research UK” said Chris Knight, Station Manager of
Amber Sound “ and a big thank you them for allowing us to use the day to
promote our next 28 day RSL broadcast, which comes on-air on September
15th as well as the charity. All in all it was a great day,
we had fun doing it for them and giving the people of Alfreton a chance
to meet some of the faces of the Amber Sound team. We congratulate
Becky, Elaine and their team for the time and effort they gave to
raising funds for a worth while charity”
Becky & Elaine started raising funds for Cancer Research UK around 4
years ago through Peacocks where they both work, but now they carry on
with their fundraising independently. In total they have raised £12226
over an 18 month period.

Thank you to all of the listeners who have tuned into the truly local
radio station to the Amber Valley.
We intend to apply for a full time licence to enable us to broadcast to
the Amber Valley region, but without support from local people a licence
for this area will not be granted.
We have support from local businesses but that isn't enough. We need to
show the regulatory body that issues radio licences that there is a need
for a station in our area. This is the reason we need you to write or
text in your support for a local station that is solely for you.
